nothinpp isn't a security system.
It's a companion.
There are two ways to approach the phone problem. One is the "lockdown app" way: treat your impulse as a threat and you as someone to be defended against. The other is the one we chose.
nothinpp starts from a simple idea: you already know what you want to do with your time. The problem isn't willpower, it's friction — your phone is designed so that opening it costs nothing. We give that cost back, but honestly. We never lock you in. You can always leave.

Pick your essentials
The apps you genuinely need (calls, maps, whatever you decide) stay outside the block. Everything else goes in.
Set your intention
Before you start, you write down what you want this time for. It's your reason, not a rule the app imposes on you.
Focus
The rest of the phone stays blocked. If you need a break, unlocking takes real friction — it isn't instant, by design. Every opening counts against your daily time, and the block returns on its own.
The principles behind every screen
Your own words matter. When you write down why you're focusing, that sentence is the first thing you see when you open the blocked app. Not a counter, not a logo — your own words.
There's always a way out, with a transparent cost. Friction, a wait, a lock you have to force open by hand. Never a wall. What we don't do is make leaving free and automatic.
One slip doesn't erase weeks. Losing a long streak overnight is when most people give up entirely. That's why repair exists: a slip gets absorbed, not punished.
Nothing leaves you locked out by a bug. If something breaks, the app opens toward you, never against you. We'd rather fail open than fail locked.
No colors, no noise, no cheap gamification. The look is deliberately austere. The app doesn't compete for your attention — it exists to give it back.
